SCOTUS to Hear NY Concealed Carry Case

Expected by mid-year 2022, the Supreme Court's ruling in the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen could declare a New York state restriction on carrying concealed handguns unconstitutional. The court is set to hear oral arguments on November 3, 2021.

New York, after an increase in homicides, instituted a handgun permitting system in 1911. The system was amended in 1913 to address concealed carry handguns.
